It was Oct. 1, 1940 and the B.C. Regiment was heading off to war. Vancouver Province photographer Claude Dettloff captured an iconic image that remains as emotionally evocative nearly three-quarters of a century later as it was during the Second World War. This weekend, the impact of Wait For Me Daddy will be memorialized in a way that will be felt more than just once a year.
