REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive begins November 14

This is the largest and longest running blanket drive in the lower Mainland. Each year, this program helps approximately 20,000 Lower Mainland residents keep warm over the winter. Since beginning in 1995, the program has helped nearly 300,000 people in our communities keep warm.

Between November 14 and 21, Realtor volunteers will collect warm clothing and blankets across the region. Donations are distributed to charities in the same community in which they are received.

“There are people in every community in our region who rely on these donations to help them through the winter,” Dan Morrison, president, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver said. “The need is strong and we need the public’s help and generosity again this year.”

Over 100 real estate offices across the Lower Mainland will act as drop-off locations for this year’s Drive. Go to www.blanketdrive.ca for their location and contact information. For updates, follow #RCBD2016 or www.facebook.com/BlanketDrive.

“The thousands of donations we collect each year are given to those in need with the help of a number of local charitable organizations that we’ve partnered with over many years,” Charles Wiebe, president, Fraser Valley Real Estate Board said.

Items we need:

- gently used or new blankets or sleeping bags
- warm clothing, coats
- hats, gloves, scarves
- new socks and underwear

The REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive is a partnership between the REALTORS® of the Fraser Valley, Greater Vancouver and Chilliwack and District Real Estate Boards and their communities.
